Step Into Your Role

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, ‘Be reconciled to God.’” — 2 Corinthians 5:20

One of my dear friends in this life is the Kids Pastor at our church, a title he has held for the better part of the last two years. It’s a role he occupies, but it’s also something God helped prepare him for long before he ever stepped into it.

And that’s not the only role he steps into every day.

There’s the role of son. Role model. Mentor. Brother. Friend. Basketball insider. You get the idea.

But here’s the thing: you have roles too.

At your job. In your family. With your friends. With the people you encounter every single day. You play a vital role in the lives you touch, whether you realize it or not.

And the beautiful part? It doesn’t stop there.

There are roles God has prepared for you in seasons to come. There are roles you played in seasons past that helped propel someone else into who they are today. Your impact isn’t something that is here today and gone tomorrow.

God has placed gifts, abilities, and passions inside of you that were never meant to be hidden away or put in a box.

You are a 1-of-1, fashioned for the roles you play every day, on purpose, for a purpose.

So how will you step into those roles today?

I pray you step into them with confidence. With assurance. Knowing that God can use you in a mighty way in someone’s life.

You may be the world’s biggest introvert, but that will never stop our God from using you.

So step boldly.

Step with a fire that this world cannot burn out.

Step into the roles God has placed before you, knowing that He is nowhere near finished with you yet.
