Carry Hope
“Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
25 years ago, this country experienced a day we will never forget.
A day filled with sorrow and tragedy. A day that rocked us to our core.
And yet, out of that tragedy came something we desperately needed: unity. A desire to care for one another. A love for our neighbors. For a season, it felt like we remembered just how much we needed each other.
But take one look at the world today, and it can be easy to become disheartened.
We see division. We see hardship. We see hope seeming more fleeting by the day.
So 25 years later, how do we hold onto hope that this world can find that unity again?
Because we serve a God who is abundant in hope.
We serve a God who can make a way where there seems to be no way.
We serve a God whose love has the power to unify us.
And while that may seem impossible when we look at social media and the landscape of our world, take heart. Hold onto hope.
He is moving. He is working. He is stirring in hearts.
And we can continue to pray. We can continue to love. We can continue to bridge the chasm that has formed between us.
Love hard. Care deeply. Use your gifts, your talents, and your blessings to help others see Jesus, maybe for the first time ever.
I pray for a country that lives out this verse.
A country that carries one another’s burdens.
A country that cares for one another.
A country that sacrifices for one another.
A country that chooses love when division would be easier.
And I pray that through ordinary people willing to love, serve, pray, and care deeply, God would begin to unify a world that seems impossible to unite.
Because our hope was never in the world getting everything right.
Our hope is in Him.
And never forget:
He has overcome the world.
Hallelujah.
