“And we have come to know and to believe the love God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.”- 1 John 4:16
Yesterday, I pulled into a gas station to get gas and saw something beautiful. I saw a young boy sprint from across the parking lot to embrace a loved one in a hug. I didn’t know how long it had been since they had seen one another, but you could see the deep affection and love they had for one another. Maybe you have had a similar encounter with a loved one, a dear friend, maybe a character at Disney World, whatever the case may be, there is peace and love in the embrace of someone who brings out that emotion in us. That interaction I saw reminded me of the love the Father has for us. The woman sat there with her arms outstretched, ready to embrace him, and that is the Father’s posture with us every single day. Even when we try to take things into our own hands, even when we hold on to things we need to give over to God, even when we think we can do this life without Him, even when we place things before Him, even when we think we are too busy to give God time, He faithfully loves, pursues, and waits for us, because of the love He has for us and for every soul in this world. His love never takes a moment off, His love never leaves because of our past, His love calls to you and I every single day, and He is calling us by name. So today, let our posture be love, let us praise our Father for His goodness, His provision, His unexplainable peace, and unending, uncontainable, unrelenting love. And let that love overflow to someone who may need it today, even if that someone may be you.
