Handle With Care
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”- Ephesians 4:32
If you’ve ever moved or help someone move, you know that some of the boxes are labeled: “Fragile: Handle with care.” Usually the contents include fine china, fancy knick knacks or even the occasional glass swan from the 1972 worlds fair. But when these boxes are entrusted to us to carry, we do as the box says, right? We handle it with intense care. As I have gotten older, I have realized that we need that same label on life. This life is fragile, here one day and gone the next, and it is something we need to handle with care, with love, with intent, but are we doing that? Are we letting kindness be conditional? Are we letting forgiveness be a blue moon occurrence? Are we so quick to forget the One who took the weight of our sin so we could be forgiven? I know there are times where I do. Love and forgiveness aren’t options with our God or something He withholds, it is His nature to love and forgive, so what are we waiting for? None of us know when our last day on earth is coming, so today, let us forgive someone who has hurt us, forgive yourself for something in your past or present that’s holding you back, love hard, love like Jesus, let people see the kindness of the Lord pouring out of us and hug those you love tight. I’m grateful that the Lord has given us the opportunity to walk through life together, to bear one another’s burdens, and to stand arm and arm as we face whatever may come, knowing His love and nature will never change. Hallelujah.
