Keep Building

“So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” — Galatians 6:9

Have you ever built a LEGO set before?

Whether it’s 100 pieces or 10,900 pieces, the process is always an interesting one. Step by step. Page by page. Piece by piece. Eventually, you end up with a parrot, the Death Star, or even the Titanic.

The process can be long, but when you finally see the finished product, it’s worth it.

And I think the same can be said about our relationship with God.

Every day is different. God is working in us and through us, and what we sometimes fail to remember is that this might just be page 34 in the manual to our lives.

We get frustrated because we can’t see the finished picture yet. We wonder why we’re on this particular page. We question why God hasn’t moved us to the next chapter.

But we forget something:

The Creator already knows what He’s building.

Our daily walk with Jesus is ever-growing and ever-changing. It is a daily surrender and a daily decision to trust how He is building our lives.

So maybe the question we should ask ourselves today is this:

Are we building our lives upon Him?

We are all a work in progress, fashioned by His hand and shaped according to His ways.

So today, and moving forward, embrace the process.

Look back at the moments when you didn’t know where to go. Remember the times when you couldn’t see a way forward, and remember how God made a way when there didn’t seem to be one.

You may not know what page you’re on.

You may not understand why you’re on it.

But don’t give up. Don’t lose heart. Keep building.

Because the Creator of the universe, the One who fashioned the sun that rose this morning, fashioned you with the same intentionality.

You are not an accident.

You are not unfinished because you’re still in process.

You’re being built.

And one day, you’ll look back and see how every page, every piece, and every season was part of something bigger than you could see at the time.

Keep trusting the process.

Keep surrendering the process.

And most importantly, keep building your life upon Him.
