The God Who Lifts My Head

"But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head."- Psalm 3:3

When we were younger, there were certain instances where we garnered some positive notoriety. Maybe it was when you answered a question when the teacher called on you in front of the class. Maybe it was when you won the game for your team in gym class. Maybe it was when you were kind and gave someone a piece of gum, and then subsequently everyone asked you for a piece. Positive notoriety in a simpler time. Oh the contrast with the world nowadays. Think of what the world defines as notoriety today: Followers and likes on Social Media, the money you make, the car you drive, the fame of your name, all about the self and all to make a name while you are here on this earth, right? But you were not created in the image of this world, you were created in the image of God. You weren't created for likes on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or any other thing, you were created to glorify God in who He created you to be. The world says you have to fight for your name to be recognized, He knows your name and calls you by it, and you will never have to fight for that because it renews every single breath with His unexplainable grace. Let that resonate this morning, in the heart, soul and mind He formed from the vapor of His breath. And let us show the world with each passing day, that it isn’t about the things we can do for our name, but all that we can do for His Name.
