Lies from the Enemy
"We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure."- Hebrews 6:19
There are a few things that seem like staples of childhood: Sidewalk chalk, being called by your full name when you are in trouble and playing hide and go seek among many other things. When I was a kid, we played an intense game of hide and go seek and I thought I had outsmarted everyone with the best hiding spot in my house. 5 minutes passed, and still no sign of anyone. Then 10 minutes go by, and 20, and then 30 and then instead of pride for my hiding spot, I felt forgotten, scared and alone. I ran back to the group and was in tears because I thought they had forgotten about me. Let’s focus on those 3 words for a moment though. Forgotten, scared and alone, it seems so common in this world today. The enemy wants us to feel alone. The enemy craves you to doubt and fear and to question your future, question today, question yourself. Every time Satan comes to whisper the lies, remember the refuge that is immovable, unchanging in love and purpose, that has won the battle before we even know the battle exists because every battle we will ever have was won at the Cross. Death has no sting, the enemy has no hold, no chain, nothing that could ever stop what Christ has started in you. Let that passion, that confidence burst out of you like a painting on a canvas, and let Him continue to paint the portrait that is your life. You are special, you bring about hope in Jesus name with everything He gave you, go remind the enemy who we are in Christ and what He gave for us and continues to give every breath. Hallelujah.
