Worship In The Waiting
“But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.”- Luke 8:15
When I was 4 years old, I took my first trip to the most incredible place in the United States (No, not Chuck E Cheese): Disney World. And when you go to Disney world, there are a few things you can expect: Joy, excitement, a whole lot of screaming and potential sunburn, but my focus this morning may surprise you: Let’s talk about the lines. 4 year old me was impatient (31 year old me is too), and I constantly asked my parents how long we would have to wait for certain rides. Maybe you had a similar experience as a kid, teen or adult. Some lines you wait in take zero time at all, others you may have stand in line for an hour to get on the ride, but ultimately we always arrive at our destination. Think about how that reflects the path God has us on, maybe we are waiting on a breakthrough, an opportunity, an answer to prayer, a relationship, whatever it may be, don’t wish the time away, remain patient and trusting knowing you may wait another month, another year, or even longer, but be strong and confident in the waiting, knowing His timing is perfect and His plans for us are good. Embrace where He has you right now and trust Him with everything you have. Let us worship in the waiting over worrying in the waiting.
So grateful to walk this life with you.
