Who Goes Before You

“For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.”- Deuteronomy 20:4

You are being fought over as you read this. Not in a boxing match or like Fiona in the movie “Shrek”, but by the King of Heaven and His adversary, Satan himself. Every single day, the battle for our thoughts, our focus, our hope is waged. Satan wants doubt to reign as we begin today, he desires fear to cripple us and for hopelessness to drive us away from the Father. But this morning, remember who never leaves our side, remember who is always waiting with open arms willing to take our insecurities, our fears, our doubts, our shame and replace them with assurance, truth, strength, confidence and victory. Remember the Cross this morning, remember the empty tomb, remember who we belong to and who makes us more than conquerors, King Jesus. Let’s go shake the gates of hell this morning with a confidence that cannot be shaken, because we know who goes before us and remains by our side in every breath, season and battle to come. Hallelujah!
