The Current Chapter

“Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began.”- Psalms‬ ‭139‬‬:‭16‬

Think of the last book you read, the chapters that flew off the page, the process of going throughout the book, when we are reading, we start anticipating the story ahead, the chapters ahead, and I think we can tie that back to our lives. Think of the chapter we stand in right now, each of our chapters are different, different seasons and circumstances, but remember this: We currently sit in the answered prayers from previous chapters of our lives from others. Rest in that last statement for a moment. Are we already looking ahead to the next chapter of our book? Wishing time away while not resting in the presence of the current chapter? What does God have for us in the now? The lessons we need to learn, the things we need to experience, remember He has seen all of our days from beginning to end. Tomorrow and the chapters to come will worry about themselves. Rest in the now, embrace the current chapter and the challenges in may be bringing, lay before God and pray for those chapters to come in our stories as well as the stories of others. Embrace the story you have because it’s your story that He continues to write, keep trusting Him, rest in the current chapter, and eagerly await when He takes you to the next one, while also praying for the chapters ahead for those you care about and many more to come.
