He Knows The Way
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”- Proverbs 3:5-6
We are constantly on the search for certain things in this life: Lower gas prices, deals at Target, Waldo, constellations in the sky and the answer to the age old question of how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. However there is one overarching thing we seem to always be seeking: Direction. Whether it is trying to navigate Atlanta, the open terrain on a road trip or somewhere in between, finding direction wasn’t always as easy as a simple plug into a GPS. You used to have to use a compass and trust you were on the path you needed to be. That’s exactly what the Lord is asking of us every single day. We so desperately want to reach our next season, our next breakthrough in the fastest way imaginable, I have desired that more times than I can count, but I continue to learn daily that it is about trusting His direction and not my own, trusting His plans and not my desires and trusting our God and not our own flesh. We will arrive at our destination exactly when we need to, no need to beat the clock by any time, and we won’t be late, because we aren’t the ones driving, He is, and His timing, His plans and His direction, are perfect. So let us surrender that today, tomorrow and each day knowing that we don’t have to search aimlessly for direction, or pull out a compass, because the Lord is all the direction and guidance we will ever need. Hallelujah.
