Run To Him

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”- Matthew 11:28

Do you fill your gas tank back up right when the light comes on or do you try to run it til it’s literally on empty? Gas is what makes our cars go, it is a necessity, so we fill up when it needs to be, we can’t drive from an empty tank. Are we doing that in our Spiritual walk though? Are we running on empty, but not going to the Father to be refueled? I know at certain points in my life (the joys of being a perfectionist), I have tried to press on through many things on my own. To no surprise, I failed, hard, because I tried to rely on my own strength, my own ways to make it through. It has only been when I completely surrendered to Jesus and His ways, His strength instead of my own, His truth over my own thoughts, that I see that I can’t do this on my own, I need Jesus. We can’t wait until catastrophe, grief, heartache, or when we feel like it to run to Jesus, that must be our instinct not only in times of trails, but it the best of times all the same. He has never failed us, He never will, He will be our stronghold, our Healer, our Sustainer, our Source for eternity. Jesus shouldn’t be an option in our lives, He should be the only choice when life gets murky, when life is phenomenal, because He is the source of strength, of love, of hope, of redemption, of wisdom, of healing, and everything we need. So if you are running on empty today, run to Jesus, run to Him with your worries, your uncertainties, your past, your current circumstances, and give it all to Him. He isn’t intimidated by it or resistant to it, but waiting with open arms to take you and all those things and bring it all to peace. Hallelujah.
